Biography
Background
Martin Fitzpatrick was born in 1968, the first child of six, to parents Mary & Joseph Fitzpatrick. Martin grew up in a relatively poor, but very happy working class household in Derby.
He left school at eighteen after achieving three good A Level results, having passed on the chance to study accountancy at University due to economic circumstances. Martin gained first work experience in 1987 working for Construction Company in London.
On returning to Derby after one year, he started a new career at an Engineering company whose largest client at that time was the UK coal mines. Martin was well travelled in his early twenties, working in Aberdeen, Manchester, London and Rotterdam.
Changed career at 27 and then again at 29 to secure first Senior Management role. Success in business has been consistent and sustained and current role is as Sales Manager for a highly successful Global Corporation who make appliances for the Recreational Vehicle market.
Current
A dedicated family man, married for eleven years to Jill with two boys Harry (10) and Frankie (7). Both boys attend the local primary school in Sheffield. Martin and family have spent over ten years living in Sheffield, currently at Bradway.
A competitive and highly driven individual who enjoys working under pressure and getting the most from his team. Very personable, well spoken and convincing.
Not afraid to be outspoken when hard decisions have to be made or actions taken, but fiercely loyal to the team once decisions or strategies are made. Comfortable in debating with the Football Fan in the pub or the Chairman of the Board.
On a lighter note and to show evidence of strong character, moral fortitude and speed of response under fire – winner of a 2001 episode of the BBC’s – The Weakest Link.
